SEE MY FILM AT SXSW 2009 FILM FESTIVAL

WAVY'S SONG "BASIC HUMAN NEEDS"
Wavy Gravy wrote the most beautiful song in the 70's called Basic Human Needs. It has always been my dream to ask some of Wavy's musician friends who have been supporting his causes for years (like the Seva Foundation) to sing his song together.

Our composer Emory Joseph did a new gospel/blues arrangement with Wavy's song and produced an awesome track with Jackson Browne, Dr. John, Bonnie Raitt, Taj Mahal, Bob Weir, Buffy Sainte Marie, Steve Earle, Maria Muldaur, Denise Kaufman, Emory Joseph and more! This song turned out amazing and we play it at the end of our film. Can't wait for everyone to hear it and sing Wavy's inspired words!

WAVY GRAVY ON THE eBay AUCTION BLOCK
NOVEMBER 26th - DECEMBER 3rd
Wavy to host “Woodstock” party for winning bidder!

Auction also includes items from Jackson Browne, Graham Nash, Odetta and more!
He has been the MC for all three Woodstock Festivals, the official clown prince of the Grateful Dead, a popular Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream Flavor. And for the winner of an upcoming eBay auction, he will be the host of your very own Woodstock party.
Wavy Gravy himself will host a “Woodstock” party for the winner of an eBay auction starting on November 26th and running though December 3rd. Proceeds from the auction will benefit the completion of the documentary film Saint Misbehavin’: The Life & Time of Wavy Gravy. All winning bidders will also be included in the film’s credits.
The auction can be found at eBay.com (search for “Wavy Gravy”) starting Monday November 26th.
For the winning bidder, it’s a night made in hippy heaven. Wavy will come to your party, Woodstock DVD in hand, as host and master of ceremonies. He’ll tell stories about Woodstock and his other legendary encounters, sing a song, read poetry, sign autographs, and bless the space in a way only Wavy Gravy can.
In addition to Wavy Gravy himself, the benefit auction also includes one of a kind items including handwritten lyrics and original photographs from artists including Jackson Browne, Graham Nash, Odetta, Barry Feinstein, Elliot Landy, DA Pennebaker and more.

About Saint Misbehavin’: The Life & Time of Wavy Gravy: Beginning with Woodstock ‘99, director Michelle Esrick has spent the past eight years documenting the life of Wavy Gravy. Saint Misbehavin’ journeys from the hills of California to the Himalayan Mountains to reveal the life of this one of a kind servant to humanity. The film blends Wavy’s own words with magical stories from an extraordinary array of fellow travelers, revealing the man behind the clown’s grin and the fool’s clothing. Wavy’s life is his message, serving as deeply needed inspiration that we can change the world and have fun doing it. Featuring: Wavy Gavy, Bob Weir, Bonnie Raitt, Jackson Browne, Steve Earle, Dr. Larry Brilliant, Mickey Hart, Phil Lesh, Ben Harper, Ken Kesey the Hog Farm and more!

MARCH 2007

Google Event!
Dr. Larry Brilliant - Executive Director of Google.org, founder of the Seva Foundation, and Wavy Gravy’s friend for over 35 years hosted a sneek peek of Saint Misbehavin' at the Googleplex in Mount View California!
The star studded audience viewed a sample reel which revealed the extraordinary footage that director Michelle Esrick has gathered over the past 8 years. In fact, the 30 minute "sneak peek" received yet another spontaneous standing ovation.

Wavy Gravy clowns around with Google CEO Eric Schmidt

Wavy Gravy, Michelle Esrick & Dr. Larry Brilliant provided a spirited Q&A afterwards. Then the film's composer (Emory Joseph) performed his song Trinkets, which was recorded by Bonnie Raitt this past year.
All kinds of cool people showed up; singer Tracy Chapman, musician Pete Sears, John & Lisa Pritzker, and even Augustine Mahiga, the Ambassador of Tanzania and his beautiful wife!

Only at Google! A clown-nosed crowd including Jahanara Romney and Wavy Gravy, (front row) and Tanzanian Ambassador and Mrs. Augustine Mahiba. (second row)

Bay Area photo process wizards Pictopia donated their time, blowing up and mounting never before seen images from Wavy Gravy's personal scrap book, which were placed on easels around the room. Special thanks to Mark Lieberman and Pilar Law!
Google Headquarters is just about the coolest place on earth! We thank everyone who helped make this event so special and would like to extend our deepest thanks to Dr. Larry Brilliant, and to his amazing assistant, Gillian Peoples -and to her amazing assistants, Tara Canobbio and Oona Buckley. Also, thank you to Moshe Cohen (Mr. Yoohoo and founder of Clowns Without Borders) who provided clown noses to the entire audience.

They created a beautiful event for us, which yielded a tremendous amount of support toward finishing the film. Many Thanks!!!

SANTA FE FILM FESTIVAL

A 30 min. work-in-progress was shown at the Santa Fe Film Festival. With Mr. Wavy Gravy himself in attendance, the edit received spontaneous applause during the screening and earned a hearty standing ovation afterward. People were moved and inspired, as they generally are when they get to hang out with Wavy Gravy. He and director Michelle Esrick provided a Q&A after the screening. Wavy even played his ektar and sang his song “Basic Human Needs”. The audience was visibly moved.
Outside, after the screening, a man came up to Wavy and thanked him for saving the man’s life some 25 years ago. Barely being able to speak through his tears, he told Wavy that he was there with his son, and that all he wanted was to thank Wavy and “introduce his son to the man who saved his father’s life.”. It was a beautiful moment.

Saint Misbehavin' The Life & Time of Wavy Gravy recently showed at the Woodstock Film Festival to a sold out, standing room only crowd which ended in a standing ovation!

Festival Director, Meira Blaustein introduced the film by introducing Michael Lang (Producer of Woodstock Music Festival), who brought Saint Misbehavin' to Mrs. Blausteins attention, and then Michael Lang introduced filmmaker Michelle Esrick who then introduced her work in progress to the very excited audience, whom were all wearing clown noses, courtesy of Ripple Effect Films. In fact, the audience would not let Mrs. Blaustein or Michael Lang speak until they put on their clown noses.

Also in attendance were John Sebastian, Barbara Kopple, Leon Gast, Elliott Landy, Barry Feinstein and Odetta. Wavy Gravy and his wife Jahanara Romney were at the screening as well. The Academy of Motion Picture & Sciences in Los Angeles held a screening and panel discussion to celebrate the Academy Award Winning documentary film, Woodstock. Wavy Gravy says, "The first Woodstock made me famous, and the second two got me paid!"

(October 23) - Woodstock (1970) 185 mins.
Presented in the original 185-minute version released in 1970, this groundbreaking film offers an intimate look at the Woodstock Music and Art Festival held in Bethel, New York, from preparation to cleanup, with views of the organizers, townspeople, concertgoers, and of course, incredible concert footage of The Who, Jimi Hendrix, Santana, Joan Baez, and more.

(October 24) - Woodstock Cast and Crew Reunion – Both the screening and the reunion will be held at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater at 8949 Wilshire Boulevard. This separate celebration focuses on the unique genesis and evolution of this ground-breaking documentary. There will be three panels, one on the origin of the concert, one on the filming of the concert and one on the post-production and distribution of the film.

Michelle Esrick, Wavy Gravy and Jahanara Romney were in attendance as well as a reunion of many of the Hog Farm commune. Wavy Gravy and the Hog Farm Commune were asked to set up all the human services at the original Woodstock, like the free kitchen, the stage, fire trails, security, the medical tent, and don't forget, Wavy Gravy's famous announcement from the stage, "what we have in mind, is breakfast in bed for 400,000!"
Some of the people who were on the panel with Wavy were, festival promoter Michael Lang, Lisa Law, Mel Lawrence, Stan Goldstein, and performer Countrey Joe.
